Welcome to the SHOUT Bridgend website. Here you will find details of our meetings and events. Contact us if you would like further details.
We realise that the Council's plans to allow limited traffic into Bridgend Town centre is important to all residents, but none more so than the over 50s. We have therefore arranged a meeting on 30 May 2017 in Carnegie House at 2.00pm, addressed by Rhiannon Kingsley, the Bridgend Town Centre Manager, to discuss the issue. Spaces will be limited, so please contact us if you would wish to attend.
We have meetings every month in Evergreen Hall, Angel Street, Bridgend at 10.30 Our speakers discuss matters that impact on the over 50s in the Borough, click on our events tab for the programme . Future speakers will include the Bridgend CBC, Waste Management, The Red Cross, Digital Communities, the Fire Service and the police. If you have any ideas for future speakers then contact us. Its all free so why not come along and give it a try.
We continue our Tai Chi sessions, aimed at complete beginners. They are held in the Evergreen Hall, Angel Street. Classes start at midday. You’ll learn a set of simple Tai Chi moves and the group will build their confidence from week to week. These sessions will be very low impact but you will need to be able to stand for a period of time.
If you’d like to put your name down on the waiting list for future Tai Chi please get in touch.
SHOUT enjoy a day of games and challenges and we WON!!
On 8 December, SHOUT as a partner of Bridgend CBC, participated in the Olympage Games 2016. There were thirteen other teams represented from a variety of older age and learning disability groups in Bridgend and even though we say it ourselves we did well. Photos will be published as soon as they are available. Wales Online’ did a nice press release - see the link below. We would like to thank Jane Thomas and Sarah Harris and their team for all the hard work it took to organise such a great event. We look forward to 2017's event!
Join us for a free cuppa and say hello and why not bring a friend.
